(2.4) Job description of security personnel at various levels of the Armed Forest Security Branch:
1. Jamdar R.P.A.N. II (P./Various)
To be the chief/commander of the Armed Forest Security Branch and assign responsibilities to the security personnel under him.
To mobilize patrols for forest security by following the instructions of the Divisional Forest Officer/Authorized Officer, Sub-Division Chiefs.
To immediately inform the Divisional Forest Officer/Forest Officers in case of an out-of-control situation for the security of forests, forest produce, and wildlife and to act as per the instructions of the Divisional Forest Officer.
To prepare and make arrangements for safe keeping of arms/guns, bullets.
To maintain and maintain arms and ammunition.
To mobilize security personnel to prevent encroachment on forests, damage to forests, and theft.
To prevent poaching of forests, forests, and wildlife.
Identify and immediately arrest those who cause damage to forest produce and wildlife and poach them and hand them over to the relevant forest office.
Arrange for the arrest of those arrested on charges of poaching forest produce and wildlife during the investigation of the case.
Mobilize security personnel to prevent damage and loss in forest encroachment, fire control, and natural disaster management.
Keep a record of the attendance, leave, and patrol schedule of security personnel under your command and inform the Divisional Forest Officer/Forest Officers.
Give special priority to patrolling sensitive forest areas from a security perspective.
Consult with the Divisional Forest Officer to arrange special leads for the protection of forests, forest produce, wildlife, and mineral resources.
Arrange for the deployment of guards on duty for the security of the office.
Arrange for the protection of seized burden carriers, hunting gear, and forest produce.
Arrange for the management, maintenance, and cleaning of detention rooms.
To perform and cause to be performed all the tasks prescribed in the prevailing law for forest protection.
To perform daily cleaning of the barracks where he/she lives.
To work within the chain of command.
To provide security to the Divisional Forest Officer and employees when they participate in the program.
To participate in mandatory check-in work at the forest produce check post.
To manage the detention room for the prisoners as well as to make arrangements to keep the prisoners safe.
To perform and cause to be performed the tasks as per the instructions and orders received from the higher authorities.
To prepare fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and annual progress reports of the tasks performed by the Armed Security Branch and send them to the concerned bodies.
2. Constable R.P.A.N. III/S.B.R. Unranked (P./Various)
To protect the forests, forest produce and wildlife under the direction and coordination of the Divisional Forest Officer/Forest Officers.
Conduct regular patrols for the protection of forests, forest products and wildlife as assigned by the Armed Forest Security Branch Chief/Commander.
Keep weapons/guns, ammunition safely with you.
If weapons need to be repaired, inform your commander immediately and keep them in working condition.
Conduct regular patrols to prevent encroachment on forests, damage, loss and theft of forest products.
Prevent poaching of forests, forests and wildlife.
Identify and immediately arrest those who cause damage, loss and loss to forest products and wildlife and poach them and hand them over to the concerned forest office.
Keep those arrested on charges of poaching forest products and wildlife in custody and protect them during the investigation of the case.
Assist the investigation officer in bringing the detainees for security when the time limit is extended.
To conduct regular patrols for security in forest encroachment, fire control, and natural disaster rescue operations to prevent damage and to rescue people/wildlife affected by natural disasters.
To regularly guard the seized forest produce and load carriers, goods of the forest as well as the office for security.
To carry out work as per the instructions and orders received from the higher authorities.
To immediately inform the security personnel or the Divisional Forest Officer/Forest Officers of a higher rank than himself if there is a possibility of any challenges during security.
To carry out all the work as prescribed in the prevailing laws for the security of the forest.
